Wedgemount Lake

Distance:

7km up, 7km down

Description.

This trail is an unrelenting climb up and above the treeline from the valley bottom. The last ascent as you climb above the treeline is the steepest and hardest. At the top you'll fine beautiful Wedgemont Lake overshadowed by even more stunning peaks and glaciers. A campsite is located on the top as well as a small cabin and outhouse. The main obstacle in this climb is the vertical gain but once conquered is well worth the climb.

Time Requirements:

2 - 6 hours

Access:

Driving north from Whistler about 4km from Green Lake the well marked turnoff takes you over Green River and is signed with the typical blue provincial park signs. Once on the dirt road keep to the left (avoiding the gravel pit) a short drive brings you to the parking lot
